The annual “Rotary Recycle Day in Memory of Mereth Meade” is an incredible service project for our local community. This event takes place at the Evergreen Country Day School.  The Rotary Club of Evergreen sponsors this opportunity for local residents to recycle materials they otherwise couldn’t recycle conveniently, including old appliances and electronics, scrap metals, tires, repairable bicycles, Styrofoam, paint, and household hazardous waste.  There’s even a paper shredding truck!  There are charges for some items to be recycled.  Rotary engages several partners to provide this service, including Jefferson County recycling resources.  All told, this service project gathers on an annual basis about 15 tons of recyclable materials that might otherwise have gone to a landfill!
