Buchanan Park Projects Updates
Corey Vander Veen presented EPRD updates on multiple projects including the new adventure playground with discovery area, skate park, indoor field house, and aquatic center expansion. The playground is in construction phase with features like adaptive swings, climbing boulders, and interactive elements, while the skate park is 65% complete and expected to open in mid-November. The indoor field house was recently approved for $3 million and will begin construction in January, and the aquatic center expansion is underway with concrete pouring for the pool floor. The total project cost is approximately $23 million and they are still seeking a naming donor for the field house.
