Stacia Sellers has been with the Colorado Department of Transportation for over seven years and serves as the Strategic Communications Lead for CDOT’s major projects and the maintenance and operations division. She has led several award-winning campaigns for the Central 70 Project, the state's largest infrastructure project in history, and has represented the Project’s Environmental Justice outreach efforts on a national level. Stacia graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Stacia lives in Denver with her husband and two dogs.
Kurt Kionka is the CDOT Floyd Hill Project Director who is responsible for leading the delivery of the I-70 Floyd Hill to Veterans Memorial Tunnels Project. This 7 mile stretch of I-70 is one of the most congested locations on the I-70 Mountain Corridor and is heavily impacted by adverse weather conditions.
Kurt brings over 21 years of multi-discipline CDOT experience to the project. Kurt started his career with CDOT in 2003 as a student intern completing public outreach for the I-70 East EIS and has since worked on numerous large complex projects including recently leading the US36 Emergency Rebuild.
Kurt is a Colorado native and currently lives in Arvada with his wife and two kids. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering at Colorado State University in 2003.
When not working Kurt’s time is consumed with his seven-year-old son and five-year-old daughter. They enjoy going to Colorado’s state parks, skiing, family vacations, trips to the zoo, downtown aquarium and enjoying all that Colorado has to offer.
