Deputy Mark Bybee began his career with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in January 2006. After graduating from the Colorado Law Enforcement POST Academy, he started in the Detention Services Division, where he served for two years before transferring to the Patrol Division. During his four years in Patrol, he served both as a patrol deputy and crime scene technician.

In 2012, Deputy Bybee joined the Recruiting Unit, where he spent six years as a recruiter and background investigator. In January 2018, he transitioned to the Public Affairs Unit as a crime prevention deputy, focusing on public safety education and outreach. In 2023, this position was reassigned to the Patrol Division and became part of the newly formed Community Resource Unit, where Deputy Bybee continues to serve, fostering strong relationships between the Sheriff's Office and the community.
